He saw as he was leaving, this complex was not permanent even when there were no wars. So they need profits, they make wars. No more "mobilization". Its influence has been devastatingly realized in the persons of Joseph Stalin, Adolph Hitler, Pol Pot, and George W. Bush.

It's hard to go further until I can identify the very origins of wealth inequality. The stats are available but no one has yet identified every mechanism by which a theoretical society beginning in an egalitarian condition of absolute equality becomes (barring violent crime, theft, or fraud) absolutely inequitable as the US has very nearly succeeded in doing.

The US, in fact, was at its most egalitarian in the immediate aftermath of WWII. Now the US is has made tremendous progress near 'absolute' inequality which, I suppose, is defined as a condition in which only one person owns all the nation's wealth. At present only one percent of the US population owns over 90 percent of total wealth.

Banana Republic! Thanks to the GOP!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04598093941551759917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19580203.post-64236740966706762272008-06-23T03:45:00.000-07:002008-06-23T03:45:00.000-07:00"Michael Reagan is a product of the 'machine'. The radio stations that carry his venom sell advertising that shills the products of an economy that is utterly dependent upon the continued theft --by the US --of the resources of other nations and other individuals." -LH

I certainly agree with that...
The latest on this hate monger, is he advocates the assignation of "traitors" to the Bush doctrines, he said he would even supply the bullets. What is so very typical of this chicken shit / chicken hawk ilk, is his advocacy to incite others to actually do his dirty work, similar to Rush Limbaugh's spiel...( in other words, these guys don't mind being the judge and jury, but will leave the killing up to the psychopaths they incite)

I do not know what stations this anti-American rant is broad casted from, but people need to google this crap, identify the products advertised and immediately cease doing any business with these companies...and then with a kindly written letter, let them know why in no uncertain terms. The one common denominator in this country is, and more then likely always will be is "business"... and the way to a group/person is through the pocket book, it seems to work every time.

I have practiced this for years, I refuse to do business with those who are blatantly irresponsible or malicious in their ways. It does take an effort, and it is almost impossible to be purest about it, but if there were an organized thorough agenda, I believe there would be marked value to the effort if enough decent Americans participated.

Also, it has been a byline of mine in efforts to promote sustainable consumerism for many years now: BLC (by less crap)
That is another issue that becomes waylayed by the slick marketing of product consumerism since wall street was created. I am not against a vibrant economy, but it must be honest to our needs, on all levels from fair and environmental resource availability to equitable global rate distribution through labor/market association.

All of this can, and has been achieved by people and industries that are wising up. We need to find them out, and support them until the Wall Street hacks have no option but to change their errant ways, then I don't care what the academics call it, but we just need to get this done. Sort of strayed there Len, but as you point out the various links to corruption and power abuse...most all of this stuff can be traced back to resource needs and distribution...as you well know. It is the greed and the need of power by a few that continue to drag all of us down, the power of the pocket book is immense, yet continues to be ignored by even those that care.

benmercAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
