Even all of us combined.

Almost every revolution has its origins in class conflict. I have never heard of rich people plotting to overthrow a government which THEY, in fact, OWN!! The problem in the U.S. is that just enough (primarily surburbanites and new 'rich;) THINK that they are rich when, in fact, they are not even in the same universe with those who benefited most from Reagan's largesse. The ONLY hope I see for America's millions is 1) the wake the fuck up! 2) having awakened the fuck up, they decide to involve themselves at the precinct level.

On this point --I fear that less than 1 percent know what the fuck I'm talking about. For them --I say get a clue or perish whilst poor! Even the GOP is 'local'. I know that from experience. The 'Reagan Revolution' was waged at the PRECINCT LEVEL all over the nation. The GOP organized neighborhood by neighborhood.

Interestingly, this is a 'leftist' strategy proposed by Saul Alinsky who is pubically reviled by the right wing for his policies. That was for public consumption. In fact, they were citing and proposing his strategies in every GOP CAMPAIGN MANUAL I could get my hands on. That is, a truly grass-roots progressive push is made by someone or some group, that takes over and is as progressive as anyone would want.

But then, we'd still be out-monied by the big money boys. We simply don't have the cash to compete. Even all of us combined.

How do you fight that without campaign finance reform? There's a reason that politicians today won't go near it.terraformernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19580203.post-39489213532425145492011-03-21T06:57:12.634-07:002011-03-21T06:57:12.634-07:00That was a very interesting point made in the vide...That was a very interesting point made in the video about the contrasting family styles between conservatives and liberals - one favoring a 'strict father' model the other that of nurturing parents.

It really explains a lot.SadButTruehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09977090207448656065noreply@blogger.com
