Liberty Betrayed!

Et tu, Democratic Party?

The American people have now suffered what must surely be the ultimate betrayal! Those elected to represent and serve their interests in Congress have 'winked and nodded' to Bush's heinous crimes, abuses, usurpations of unconstitutional power, aggressive war and villainy. Democrats in Congress have quashed a move by Dennis Kucinich to impeach the usurper who still occupies the White House.

In a single act of cowardice and betrayal, if not treason, the US congress has 'scuttled' the Articles of Impeachment drawn up and carefully researched by Dennis Kucinich. The US government, therefore, may no longer assert or claim legitimacy. By turning a blind eye to the numerous specific crimes that Kucinich outlined and proved in some 35 Article of Impeachment, the people are left adrift. There is no rule of law!
WASHINGTON - Democrats in the House of Representatives yesterday scuttled a colleague's proposal to impeach President Bush on a wide range of charges, including lying to the American public about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, torturing war captives, and misleading Congress in an attempt to destroy Medicare.
By a 251-166 vote, the House sent the 35-count articles of impeachment to the Judiciary Committee, which is expected to let it die without further action. While the vote technically forces the measure to the committee for consideration, it also means the full House will avoid having to debate and vote on impeaching the 43d president.

According to Boston. com "no Democrats [sic] voted against the resolution to send the measure to certain death in the Judiciary Committee, but 166 Republicans voted no - a tactic designed to force Democrats to address the measure publicly." The desires, needs and aspirations of the vast majority of people had long ago been betrayed by the GOP. Now --the Democrats have simply twisted the knife in the wound.

Thomas Jefferson would have had this to say:
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Clearly --as Dennis Kucinich proved conclusively and persuasively in some 35 Articles of Impeachment --the government of George W. Bush, his enablers, toadies, and the financial support that he enjoys has 'broken the peace' with the American people. The US Constitution is a covenant between the people and those elected to serve them. Bush has broken that covenant, thumbed his nose at it and disdained it, calling the Constitution ' ...just a goddamned piece of paper!" The case against Bush, indeed this government was documented and proven in Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment.

What will you do without freedom? What will you do about the yoke of tyranny imposed by the war criminal and usurper who now occupies the White House illegally? The Courts have abandoned you. The 'Presidency' is lost, perhaps forever to the forces of totalitarianism, greed and villainy.

Americans' last hope --the Democratic majority in Congress --has, in fact, told you to 'fuggetaboutit'! The US government is no longer legitimate! Like Bush, your government no longer 'cares what you think!"

Although I'm not hopeful, still (Con)yers invited McClellen to testify in front of the judiciary committee about allegations in his book. This could mean (in a just world) that McClellen would be heard and the committee would send the Articles of Impeachment back to the floor for a vote. This is more than we saw happen when the Articles were previously issued against Cheney.

Yet, wasn't it (Con)yers who parroted the Zionist shill Pelosi by saying "impeachment is off the table" after the '06 election?

Hell, as far as I'm concerned, the US government hasn't been legitimate since 9/11/01.

The Law Transcends Trivial Politics

May history damn the quisling Democrats accordingly for their complicity in the war crimes and crimes against the Constitution by the Bush-Cheney junta.

We are supposed to be a nation of LAWS but it is only about winning, this same sort of sick set of values is what has corrupted our financial system, our society and when the historians write volumes on the fall of America it will be the abandonment of the rule of law in favor of the cheapness of winning elections in order to gain control the corporate money spigots and the accompanying spoils system that will be seen as as integral a part of our fall from grace as anything.

We no longer give a rat's ass about the law, it's all about winning.

Chisel that on our national tombstone.

Disgusting, feckless and rotten to the core are any Democratic excuses for not holding these fascist thugs accountable, trying them and then sending them to prison or hanging them as traitors.

I suppose we were asking to much of our "representatives" (to basically honor their oath to the American people and our constitution) ...but I liked Kucinich's come back, as just that...he will continue to bring up these articles, adding to the charges each time.

Story from The Hill: Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) said he’s not going to let his effort to impeach President Bush die a quiet death in committee.

He said Wednesday that he’ll bring his resolution back in 30 days if the Judiciary Committee, to which it was referred Wednesday, doesn’t act on it.

Although I agree with the VAST majority of your comments, you are making a grievous mistake in invoking UN laws at the end of your article. Do you REALLY want the UN to dictate what how this country is run? If so -- and given your apparent intelligence -- I strongly suggest you learn more about the UN and its agenda.

It amazes me that Congress actually impeached Bill Clinton for his relatively innoccuous "crimes" and yet the obvious crimes of this administration are ignored except by Dennis Kucinich. If this president and his henchmen aren't impeachable I don't know who is.

That an organization of 'goons' [the IRS] will shake you down for protection money [taxes?] imposed upon you though the 'government' NO LONGER represents you seems to me to be confirmation of the govt's illegitimacy. I am not 'invoking' anything! And, in any case, to say that I am making a 'grievous' mistake is uninformed if not stupid. Have you read the Constitution, US laws and, indeed, the UN charter? If not, educate yourself. Likewise READ Kucinich's 35 articles of impeachment. It addresses that very point and, if you had read them, you would have known that. I didn't 'invoke' shit! I was, rather, annotating Kucinichs's fine work. I had the 'UN' argument with a pimple faced idiot in my Congressman's office.

He lost.

And I won't waste nearly so much time with your idiotic and uniformed comment. Don't lecture me about stuff of which you have betrayed complete ignorance. Come back when you've passed your exams!

I've always regretted not meeting Molly. She was one of a kind. She wrote for the Ft. Worth Star Telegram which syndicated her column. Funny thing about 'news types' --they tend to meet fewer 'colleagues' than sources. One day, with a brandy and a fire, I will simply have to write down the names of all the brilliant, idiotic, wise, stupid, interesting, dull, and riveting people that I have been privileged to have spent as much as five minutes or an entire day with. I can tell you this much --in several meetings with George Bush Sr, I was never, ever in any way impressed! He rambled; he was whiny, dull and, in every way, uninteresting.

As I may have written earlier, Kucinich has --at the very least --turned up the heat on Obama who simply CANNOT ignore the support Kucinich already had and has gotten on this issue.
