The Beijing Olympics: Another Vulgar Celebration of Greed and 'Corporatist' Values

Not since 1936 has a police state hosted an Olympics amid such international hype. Still espousing 'communism', the Beijing regime that brought you the Massacre at Tiananmen Square is easily bought off, at least temporarily, by makers of sneakers and other shameless exploiters of labor and humanity. The world has not seen extravagance on this scale since another tyrant --Adolph Hitler --tried to exploit the Olympics to put a smiley face on Nazism.

Over the next three weeks, we will watch a slick propaganda parade of Chinese "sporting heroes". But we will not see China's true heroes in the glittering stadiums of Beijing – because they are in prison, or they have "disappeared." If you are indiscreet enough to ask after them, you will be instantly smeared as "anti-Chinese".

But what are these critics saying? Liu Shaokun is a young teacher in Sichuan Province. He watched his pupils die in the earthquake because their school was built using cheap substandard materials, by corrupt officials who pocketed the change. He took photographs to prove it and posted them on the internet. So he has been seized and indefinitely imprisoned without trial. Is he anti-Chinese?

Chen Guangcheng is a blind self-taught lawyer who exposed the government's policy of forcibly sterilising disabled Chinese women. So he has been jailed for four years. Is he anti-Chinese? Jiang Yanyong is a doctor who exposed the government's attempt to cover up the SARS outbreak, saving tens of thousands of Chinese lives. So he is under indefinite house arrest after a lengthy "re-education". Is he anti-Chinese?

Back in 1936, the US missed a chance to strike an early blow against Nazism: it rejected a proposed boycott of Hitler's 1936 Olympics. Instead, the games most certainly left Hitler encouraged to accelerate his policies of expansion, aggressive war, and genocide. We must ask ourselves what might be the longer term consequences of our trumpeting the spectacle in Beijing.
It is a potent hybrid of the most powerful political tools of authoritarianism communism -- central planning, merciless repression, constant surveillance -- harnessed to advance the goals of global capitalism. Some call it "authoritarian capitalism," others "market Stalinism," personally I prefer "McCommunism."

Through extraordinary feats of authoritarian governing, the Chinese state has built stunning new stadiums, highways and railways -- all in record time. Big companies from Adidas to UPS have partnered with a so-called 'communist regime' to divvy up profits from a global spectacular! The salivating is undisguised and public. McCommunism is cute --but the old fashioned word for it, the word that Benito Mussolini would have used, is fascism, Likewise, by the time the Olympics were planned in Germany, Hitler had already agreed to divvy up war booty with the likes of I.G. Farben, Thyssen, Krupp, et al.

For two weeks in August 1936, Adolf Hitler's Nazi 'Third Reich' put a smiley face on tyranny. For Der Fuhrer, as well as the fascist regime in Beijing, the Olympics was and remains pure PR. Hitler soft pedaled its antisemitism, plans to conquer Poland, France and England. Hitler would exploit the games to dazzle foreign journalists and visitors. He would use the games to project false images of peace and tolerance. It was all smoke and mirrors.

After the games, Hitler declared Jews to be "enemies of the state". He accelerated policies of expansion, acquisition and aggressive war. His 'efforts' culminated in World War II and, eventually, the Holocaust.
Chinese corporations financed by US hedge funds, as well as some of American's most powerful corporations -- Cisco, General Electric, Honeywell, Google -- have been working hand in glove with the Chinese government to make this moment possible: networking the closed circuit cameras that peer from every other lamp pole, building the "Great Firewall" that allows for remote internet monitoring, and designing those self-censoring search engines.

There is another side to the sponsorship gravy train.
This year's Olympics have been hyped as a blockbuster for marketers, a chance to ride the wave of Chinese national pride that may translate into billions of dollars in sales of Adidas sneakers, McDonald's Big Macs, or General Electric wind turbines.

But Beijing 2008 is likely to go down as the high-water mark of the Olympic sponsorship program. While the Games offer unique attractions to sponsors, multinationals are already looking more critically at whether the payback will be worth it for future Games.

An Irrelevant Campaign of 'Just Words'

In the US the 'political season' occurs every four years and lasts four years. In four years, many words are said and inversely fewer mean anything. Do the math. The campaigns are but a sop to public delusions that the US is a 'Democracy'.

The US was the creation of Northern commercial interests and remains so today. For those who wield power, the campaigns are a light diversion in which mock debates are held about things that don't matter. When the dust has settled, the power brokers still broker power, the slaves are still lashed to the wheel. Every four years you are thrown a bone to gnaw on until another bone is thrown you four years hence!

John McCain came dangerously close to saying something meaningful when he said we may stay in Iraq for 'ten thousand years'! Just words? Obama said that the decision to invade Iraq was 'the most important foreign-policy decision in a generation' --'just words'! Unless he means that it was a bone-headed, fascist decision that has bankrupted the nation, destroyed the Constitution, enslaved the American and the Iraqi peoples, enriched the rich, and resulted in the murders of over one million Iraqi civilians. Why didn't he say that? Perhaps, that's not what he meant! Perhaps, it's all just words!

Sure the so-called candidates talk about 'Iraq' but in buzzwords, fashionable but meaningless phrases, Pentagonese and 'cute speak'! 'Cute speak' is 'pre-fab', 'lego' language, clauses and phrases assembled on-the-fly: one from column 'A', one from column 'B', one from column 'C'.

I may package this on flash cards and call it "Instant Pundit". You can be assured that you will always come up with something that that will pass for network TV analysis and will mean as much, that is, nothing. Just words!

That Americans actually talk like that proves that almost every child was left behind but managed to get a job regurgitating banalities on TV. It's 'cute speak', it's called 'failing upward'.

Does anyone really know what the candidates positions are? Has anyone bothered to ask Obama if he will rescind the very real harms done by Bush upon the Constitution? Has anyone bothered to pin McCain down on just when and how he intends to rob seniors of Social Security?

How does either candidate feel about the fact that, by decree, habeas corpus has been denied as an essential point of law in the US? It is that real and definable issue less important than the more reported facts that McCain is gray and Obama is dark tan? Or the other non-issues making 'You Tube': McCain said 'cunt' and Obama stole 'just words'! So what? Are they not 'just words'?

Have either McCain or Obama said anything worth stealing, anything about 1) the criminal manner in which we got into Iraq; 2) how we get out; 3) war crimes trials for those who got us there? Past this point, neither candidate has ever really said anything at all. Just words!

That the candidates are speaking in 'code words' may not be their fault entirely. The public has spoken via 'focus groups' and 'studies'. The candidates are just telling you what 'you' have said 'you' want to hear: just words! You want to hear meaningless platitudes, slogans, and claptrap. You WANT to hear bullshit! Keep in mind, however, that it was Albert Speer who said that the Third Reich was erected upon utterly meaningless platitudes --'just words'.

Among the few politicians who dared address real issues with real and meaningful words was John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. It was bad enough that America died on November 22, 1963, it died again on June 5, 1968. It has died daily since. And since that time politicians have feared to use real language to describe real issues in real terms for real people since. It's all just words! Very few --like Sen. Paul Wellstone --did But they, too, are dead.
The darker places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis.

Even as I write, Bush is trying to justify to the nation his having arrogated unto himself the powers of a dictator. All this was foreseen by our founders and statesmen. Bush thought them 'just words'!

Consider the following warning from the venerable Joseph Story, whose commentaries on the Constitution have guided Supreme Court justices since the Marshall court.
§ 1486. The propriety of admitting the president to be commander in chief, so far as to give orders, and have a general superintendency, was admitted. But it was urged, that it would be dangerous to let him command in person, without any restraint, as he might make a bad use of it. The consent of both houses of Congress ought, therefore, to be required, before he should take the actual command. The answer then given was, that though the president might, there was no necessity that he should, take the command in person; and there was no probability that he would do so, except in extraordinary emergencies, and when he was possessed of superior military talents.

Now --there is some disagreement about whether or not he said it. It doesn't matter. If he didn't say it, he might s well have! His every action proves that he believes the Constitution to be either 'just a goddamned piece of paper' or --worse --'just words'!

Bush often appropriates the language of the old west without understanding it or its significance. He's not a real cowboy. He's a phony. But --today --it doesn't matter. It's 'just words'.

When he is impeached, Bush may very well barricade himself in the White House, claiming that he is "Commander-in-chief", that he is not subject to a mere order from Congress, that he is not subject to a "goddamned piece of paper"! He might get away with it because 'just words' will have lost the power to motivate 'the people' to the defense of the only republic they ever had, will ever get! Republic! Just a word I suppose. See how insidiously the establishment has defeated you. They robbed you of the power inherent in the ONLY weapon you had against them: just words!

Assassinations, White House Child Prostitution, Cover-ups, and Terrorism

Democrats might have been in a position to oppose Bush along a broad front. But 911 and targeted Anthrax attacks changed everything. Just as the FBI put a lid on Bush Sr's alleged involvement in a White House child prostitution ring circa 1990, the government itself most certainly denied the truth of 911 to the American people circa 2001. Suspicious deaths like these are far outside the normal distribution curves; suspicious deaths of establishment critics are statistically high. It is the picture of a world in which Democrats and liberals would be smart never to board a plane.

The Anthrax attacks had the desired result: it shut up the Democratic opposition, most notably, Nancy Pelosi who had once called Bush a 'dangerous man'. Impeachment was off the table. One wonders what improbable series of GOP coincidences are required before Americans will --at last --conclude that something very, very rotten, evil and corrupt has been loosed in America. A short essay cannot possibly document every suspicious detail, every suspension of physics, logic, or common sense. Nevertheless, a broad outline paints a vivid picture. And every picture tells a story. The story can be summed up thus: the cancerous growth of something rotten in America, a growth that paces the rise of the GOP.

911 divided the world up according the GOP ideology --patriots vs terrorists. 911 was so convenient as to be unbelievable! I still don't believe the official story and less now than when the event was fresh. The official version is even more unbelievable now as more is known about how Bush personally ordered evidence destroyed and inquiries quashed with veiled threats of GOP-sponsored terror. Were key Democrats afraid of being involved in a mysterious but highly coincidental plane crash, a plane crash that defies the normal distribution curve, the very laws of statistics and probability? It's the only hypothesis that explains what it otherwise inexplicable!

As many in government are overly eager now to put the Anthrax attacks behind them, it is clear that a genie may be out of the bottle. It's time to let it all hang out. It's time to conduct a real, open and accountable independent investigation into the suspicious, untimely deaths of Sen. Paul Wellstone, Mel Carnahan, and numerous others who --we are expected to believe --just happened to get on board an ill-fated plane just before a key vote could be cast, an incriminating fact revealed, or an investigation (911 specifically) begun!

It is, of course, too late for this administration to retrieve any credibility. Because this administration is utterly without credibility on every issue from Iraq to Anthrax to 911, an investigation into the convenient death of Paul Wellstone must begin now!

The late Senator's death was no surprise. Indeed, on May 25, 2001 VoxFux predicted that 'a Senator' would die in a aircraft accident.
Within months, one of a selected group of democratic Senators, likely from a state with a Republican Governor, will meet an untimely death. The death will appear to be either a plane “accident” or by “natural causes,” - Whichever is most easily accomplished. The reality will in fact be that the Senator was one of a group of several Senators (Narrowed down into a group of “Selects”) targeted for assassination and was the one who was in the right place at the right time for the most convenient and clean "hit.”

You will see, within in the coming months, for absolutely certainty, the untimely death of at least one Democratic Senator, to "re balance the scale". The private covert intelligence groups behind George Bush Sr. are extraordinarily well funded with petrochemical billions. They are deadly, work completely autonomously, in a terrorist formation identical to a terrorist organization, and are absolutely religiously dedicated to accomplishing their objectives. They will not rest until the Senate is under the control once again of the darkest force ever to seize control of the American Empire - The clandestine industrial / military / intelligence triad who is currently represented by George Bush Jr.

Wellstone opposed the Bush administration's 'War Resolution'. Is this motive for murder? That is best answered with another question: when it is clear that Saddam Hussein neither had WMD nor anything to do with 911, were the rich oil fields of Iraq motive for a war of aggression that has most certainly claimed over one million innocent lives?
If Wellstone's plane was sabotaged, it wouldn't be the first time that a political figure met his end in the friendly skies. A plane carrying Chinese leader Mao Tse-Tung's hand-picked successor, Lin Biao, crashed under mysterious circumstances en route to Moscow during 1971. The Chinese later claimed that Lin was defecting to the Soviet Union after a botched coup attempt against Mao; guilty or not, most historians believe that his plane was probably sabotaged. On March 3, 2001, a phosphorus bomb blew up a Thai Airways Boeing 737-400 minutes before the country's new prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, was set to board the jet.

Many American politicians--mostly Democrats and liberal Republicans--have died in aviation disasters. Senator John Tower (R-TX) Senator John Heinz (D-PA), Congressman Mickey Leland (D-TX); Ron Brown and Mel Carnahan are among those who have been killed in airplanes since 1989. "Elected officials expose themselves every day to these kinds of risks as they travel across their states or districts," Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) commented, noting the perils of frequently using small aircraft.

Anyone who has traveled on what is euphemistically called "civil aviation" can tell horror stories about sudden drops, lurches and violent thunderstorms. But it's also true that security at the regional airports and small terminals at major airports used for such flights--Wellstone flew out of St. Paul--is more easily penetrable than that at JFK and LAX. It would hardly be impossible to sabotage a plane chartered for an inconvenient politician.

Wherefore the Black Box?

According to aviation consultant Robert Breiling, the plane that carried Senator Wellstone--the King Air A-100 "business turboprop," also known as a Beech King Air--is remarkably safe, with 25 percent fewer fatal accidents than other planes in its class. Warren Morningstar, spokesman for the Airline Owners and Pilots Association, says: "It's a great airplane."

So why did Wellstone's go down? Weather is the lead suspect. Freezing temperatures, which can be severe in Minnesota, came early this year. "This airplane would typically be equipped with de-ice equipment but there are icing conditions that are beyond the measure of any equipment to remove," Morningstar notes.

Local pilots, however, doubt that ice was a problem. "There was little ice. It was normal. We see it all the time," said Don Sipola, a flight instructor with 25 years experience.

"Black boxes"--a flight data recorder and a cockpit voice recorder--are often crucial for discovering the cause of airplane crashes. According to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Paul Takemoto, the plane was required to be equipped with both. Contradicting the FAA, Carol Carmody, acting chairwoman of the National Transportation Safety Board which is investigating the site of the crash, says that the plane apparently carried neither. Were the black boxes lost or were they never aboard? Someone may know, but thus far no one's saying.

Paul Wellstone was the only progressive in the US Senate. Mother Jones magazine once described him as, "The first 1960s radical elected to the US senate." He was also the last. Since defeating incumbent Republican Rudy Boschowitz 12 years ago in a grassroots upset, Wellstone emerged as the strongest, most persistent, most articulate and most vocal Senate opponent of the Bush administration.

In a senate that is one heartbeat away from Republican control, Wellstone was more than just another Democrat. He was often the lone voice standing firm against the status-quo policies of both the Democrats and the Republicans. As such, he earned the special ire of the Bush administration and the Republican Party, who made Wellstone's defeat that party's number one priority this year.

Wellstone now joins the ranks of other American politicians who died in small plane crashes. Another recent victim was Missouri's former Democratic governor, Mel Carnahan, who lost his life in 2000, three weeks before Election Day, during his Senatorial race against John Ashcroft. Carnahan went on to become the first dead man to win a Senatorial race, humiliating and defeating the unpopular Ashcroft posthumously. Ashcroft, despite his unpopularity, went on to be appointed Attorney General by George W. Bush. Investigators determined that Carnahan's plane went down due to "poor visibility."

Carnahan was the second Missouri politician to die in a small plane crash. The first was Democratic Representative Jerry Litton, whose plane crashed the night he won the Democratic nomination for senate in 1976. His Republican opponent ultimately captured the seat from his successor in November.

While an article in the New York Times on Saturday pointed out the danger politicians face due to their heavy air travel schedules, the death of a senator or member of Congress is still relatively rare, with only one other sitting US Senator, liberal Republican John Heinz, dying in a plane crash since World War II. Heinz, who entered office as an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War, later emerged as a strong proponent of health care, social services, public transportation and the environment. He also urged reconciliation with Cuba. He died when the landing gear on his small plane failed to function, and a helicopter dispatched to survey the problem crashed into his plane.

One former senator, John Tower, also died in a small plane crash. Tower was best known as the chair of the Tower Commission, which investigated the Reagan/Bush era Iran/Contra scandal.

Another member of a prominent government commission who died in a small plane crash was former Democratic representative and House Majority Leader Hale Boggs. Boggs was best known as one of the seven members of the Warren Commission, which investigated the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The commission found that Lee Harvey Oswald was acting alone when he killed the president. Boggs, it turns out, had "strong doubts" that Oswald acted alone, but went along with the commission findings. Later, in 1971 and 1972, he went public with his doubts. He was presumed dead after the small plane carrying him and Democratic Representative Nicholas Begich disappeared in 1972.

Other prominent officials meeting untimely deaths in small plane crashes include Texas Democratic Representative Mickey Leland and Clinton administration Commerce Secretary Ronald Brown. Leland had been a six-term member of Congress, outspoken advocate of sanctions against the apartheid government in South Africa. He was traveling to Ethiopia when he was killed. Brown's plane went down in the Balkans.

Another suspicious case is that of Gen. Torrijos Herrera, the so-called dictator of Panama. The motive may have been his defiance of Ronald Reagan. Torrijos had 'thumbed his nose at the Reagan/Bush regime and threatened to close the Panama Canal. Like many another fatal flight, the Torrijos flight exploded in flight, disappearing from radar. In common with many another death, the flight took place in severe weather, the plane had dropped off radar.

The Torrijos death was most certainly politically motivated. In a pre-trial hearing in Miami, in 1991, Manuel Noriega's attorney, Frank Rubino, was quoted saying: "General Noriega has in his possession documents showing attempts to assassinate General Noriega and Mr. Torrijos by agencies of the United States."

Mel Carnahan was not the only politician from Missouri to meet an untimely end. Jerry Litton was running for the Senate when he and his family were 'plane crashed in August of 1976 enroute to a victory celebration in Kansas City.

In 1978, Dick Obershain had just won Virginia from John Warner. He was 'plane crashed'near Richmond, VA. Who benefited? John Warner who now heads the Senate Armed Service Committee.

In 1980, John Lennon, who had written poignantly of a world free of religious and political ideology, was shot to death by Mark David Chapman. Chapman was improbably connected with/to John Hinckley Sr, the father of the man, accused of shooting Ronald Reagan. Hinckley Sr was president of World Vision, a right wing evangelical association which had employed Lennon's killer --Mark David Chapman. Ominously Hinckley's organization is deeply connected to the CIA and has helped 'the company' in numerous 'projects'. Hinckley's largest contributor is none other than the US Department of State. I smell a rat, murder, and right wing subversion! [See: MarkWhite.com]

Among the numerous assassinations and strange deaths that have come to characterize American politics, the case of Gary Caradori --a retired state police investigator --is among the most weird and hints at the negative, evil, Satanic underbelly of American political culture. The Nebraska Senate had hired Caradori to investigate a "homosexual prostitution ring" that appeared to be operating right out of the White House. The Washington Times broke the story, reporting “...a homosexual prostitution ring is under investigation by federal and District authorities and includes among its clients key officials of the Reagan and Bush administrations, military officers, congressional aides and US and foreign businessmen with close ties to Washington’s political elite.”

Perhaps because Gary Caradori is no longer with us, the names of the Bush and Reagan officials involved in this queer ring, said to have also involved child pornography or even worse, will probably never be known. There were recent echoes of this scandal. Recall Jeff Gannon, Bush's gay boy who often posed as a reporter when he was not posing naked for folk like George W. Bush or other perverted, GOP fiends. His cover was blown when his nude photos were publicly circulated.

Before he was murdered, Caradori had been investigating Lawrence E. King Jr., an influential black Republican, a close friend of George H. W. Bush! A director of the Franklin Community Credit Union in Omaha, King was suspected of embezzling $40 million. It was during this investigation that the subject of child prostitution came up. The Nebraska Senate found itself questioning child prostitutes who accused King of running a child prostitution ring. One of them reported seeing George H. W. Bush at one of King's 'parties'.

It was then that Schmidt was warned to drop his investigation amid fears that it would reach the highest levels of the GOP. Indeed, various international news organizations reported that the "scandal implicated not only Bush Sr but politicians 'close to the White House'. It was the kiss of death. Gary Caradori and his six year old son were killed as passengers in a small plane that exploded in mid-air. The cause was never discovered. Cardori had told friends that he was afraid that his plane would be sabotaged. It probably was.

'They may take our lives but they will never take our freedom!'

By assuming the power to wage war upon the people of the United States, Bush has made it official: he is a traitor. Under the US Constitution, the people themselves are sovereign and Bush has declared war upon the sovereign. The word for that in law and throughout history is: high treason! The Constitution of Estados Unidos Mexicanos (United States of Mexico or, if you prefer, United Mexican States) is the product of a revolution that was waged in that country in 1910. Unfortunately, the American United States, (Estados Unidos) could not be expected to have given a revolution in Mexico an adequate treatment, having failed to educate US citizens about its own history. Arguably, George W. Bush could never have gotten away with a complete repudiation of the US Constitution had Americans known as much of their history as do the citizens of Mexico about their country.

Cases in point involve the rights of individuals vs the powers of 'state'. States have no powers but those which derive by the consent of the people. The people, in fact, are sovereign. Any 'leader' who wages war upon them is, by defintion, a traitor! It is on this issue that Bush is either dead wrong or deliberately lying.

It is unfortunate that in the United States, for example, a 'Bill of Rights' was almost an after thought. So confident was James Madison that the Philadelphia Constitution was itself a bulwark against tyranny by virtue of an ingenious 'separation of powers' that he felt a separate 'Bill of Rights' to be unnecessary if not superfluous. At last, when a 'Bill of Rights' was insisted upon, Madison would draft it himself and his work therein is arguably more relevant to the individual than are those powers delegated either the President or Congress in the main body of the Constitution. It is the Bill of Rights which draws the line between state and individual, a line that state dare not trespass. People as 'sovereign' may (to use Thomas Jefferson's word) 'abolish states at their pleasure!

In Mexico (also called Estados Unidos) it is, I think, especially notable that the rights of individuals were not merely after thoughts. The rights of individuals vs those powers of state that might transgress against them are dealt with upfront and in language strong and unambiguous. While the body of the US Constitution is concerned with enumerating the powers and responsibilities of three branches of government, the very first Article in the Mexican Constitution deals with the rights of the people and individuals.
These rights cannot be denied and they cannot be suspended. Slavery is illegal in Mexico; any slaves from abroad who enter national territory will, by this mere act, be freed and given the full protection of the law.
Also covered Article I is the prohibition of all types of discrimination based on ethnic or national origins, sex, age, or social conditions. Everyone is protected by the rule of law regardless of different capacities or talents, social class or conditions, health, opinions, or preferences.

Bush, meanwhile, claims a 'right' to wage war upon the people themselves. This concept is TREASONOUS! Mexican revolutionaries understood what Bush does not: the people are sovereign. This principle was agreed to at Runnymede by King John and it is the very basis for Democracy; it the very foundation upon which any Democracy is based. Any state which presumes to wage 'war' upon its people or to enslave them upon ANY pretext is, by definition, a dictatorship, a tyranny and, in the words of Thomas Jefferson, it must be overthrown, by force if need be!
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Che Guevara said put it this way:
Of these three propositions the first two contradict the defeatist attitude of revolutionaries or pseudo-revolutionaries who remain inactive and take refuge in the pretext that against a professional army nothing can be done, who sit down to wait until in some mechanical way all necessary objective and subjective conditions are given without working to accelerate them.

As these problems were formerly a subject of discussion in Cuba, until facts settled the question, they are probably still much discussed in America. Naturally, it is not to be thought that all conditions for revolution are going to be created through the impulse given to them by guerrilla activity. It must always be kept in mind that there is a necessary minimum without which the establishment and consolidation of the first center is not practicable.

People must see clearly the futility of maintaining the fight for social goals within the framework of civil debate. When the forces of oppression come to maintain themselves in power against established law; peace is considered already broken.

Bush, by contrast, has said that 'The Constitution is just a goddamned piece of paper!" and, in so declaring, he has begun his war upon the people. He is a traitor! He must be charged with high treason and brought to trial. King Charles I of England lost his head for less or similar offenses.

Bush has repeatedly asserted a 'power' to wage war on the American people, claiming and aggressively exercising, the "right to use any and all war powers against American citizens within the United States". Like any other tin-horn dictator he insists that he is above all restraints by Congress and the courts. In any state in which the people are sovereign, anyone waging war upon them is a traitor and is, by law, guilty of high treason! Many of these 'wars' are still fought north of the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo in Mexico). They are still fought north of the Rio Grande because of one party primarily: the GOP, otherwise called the Republican party, in fact, not a 'Republican' party at all but the party of the self-declared and absolute dictatorship of George W. Bush.

In 1910, the people of Mexico were oppressed by the regime of Porfirio Diaz. Unlike the people of the United States, Diaz was effectively opposed and eventually deposed by a people's revolution which was eventually responsible for elevating the rights of the people as opposed to the assume and arbitrary prerogatives of any government.

As he was portrayed by Mel Gibson in 'Braveheart', William Wallace addressed his rag tag band of 'revolutionary' Scots and allied Irish who opposed the oppressive regime of King Edward, called 'Longshanks'. "What will you do without freedom?", Wallace asked!

What will Americans do unless freedom is restored in Bush's wake? Will America simply slide off into oblivion, slavery, bankruptcy and collapse?

Don't dismiss the notion. Financially, the US is already bankrupt, careers lay in ruins, millions have already lost homes and suffered broken families. The worst is yet to come and FEMA has not constructed a gulag of camps for nothing. The Bill of Rights is but a memory and unless Bush is challenged, it will remain so. The next time you feel the impulse to condescend to your neighbor who lives south of the historic Rio Grande, reflect upon the fact that he is still protected by a rule of law which states without exception:
These rights cannot be denied and they cannot be suspended.
Since the ascension of Bush, you have NO SUCH guarantees!

A Police State Update:
DALLAS (Reuters) - Texas defied the World Court and executed a Mexican national by lethal injection on Tuesday over the objections of the international judicial body and neighboring Mexico.

Jose Medellin, 33, was pronounced dead at 9:57 p.m. CDT in the state's death chamber in Huntsville, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.

He had been condemned for the 1993 rape and murder of 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena in Houston and lost his bid late Tuesday for a last-minute stay from the U.S. Supreme Court.

The World Court last month ordered the U.S. government to "take all measures necessary" to halt the upcoming executions of five Mexicans including Medellin's on the grounds that they had been deprived of their right to consular services after their arrests.

Medellin's execution is sure to anger neighboring Mexico and analysts have said it could make life rough for Americans arrested abroad if other countries decide to evoke the U.S. example and deprive them of their right to consular services.

This typically means diplomats will visit and provide legal advice to their nationals being held by authorities.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles had recommended that the state's Republican governor Rick Perry not grant a temporary reprieve, paving the way for Medellin's execution.

Texas, which executes far more convicts than any other U.S. state, had taken the view that the brutal nature of Medellin's crimes rendered him unfit for a reprieve or lesser sentence.
